Summary
Working with multiple departments, I have the opportunity to make my coworker's and client's lives a little easier through design. Whatever the medium, I'm always excited to take on new design projects, and I get to work with lots of mediums - web, intranet, email, social, photography, print, packaging, (very) large format printing, screens and ribbon boards, signage and wayfinding.
Sustainable Practices Booklet
Wanting to highlight all the various ways the convention centre focuses on being a venue at the forefront of sustainability, I worked with the Communications team to put together this clean, clear and organized booklet.
Email Subscription
A long time in the making, in 2023, we finally started sending emails to subscribers. I design the graphics, play with some HTML and inline styling to ensure the design works on multiple devices and email platforms, help with copy, manage the subscription lists, think of ways to increase our subscriber numbers and interpret the analytics.
Summer Sounds Music Series
For a couple of summers in a row, the convention centre hosted a recurring musical series on Jack Poole Plaza. I got to brand the event with a visual identity and design some of the collateral like signage, posters and social posts. Overall this was a really fun project for me, to get a little outside the regular day-to-day convention centre projects.
Social Media Design
Occasionally I will support the Social Media Coordinator with complex designs, like this event which we hosted and sponsored.
Internal Events Posters
I'm always happy to get the chance to do a little print design, especially posters. Whether it is purely typographic or creating realistic buttons and pins, I love exploring different styles while mixing in clever ideas.
Analytics Report
As requested by the leadership team, I was tasked with designing a quarterly analytics report that highlighted some key figures from the Sales, Marketing and Communications teams. With a one-page, double-sided constraint it was a bit of a challenge to get it all in there, so organizing with columns and relying heavily on the baseline grid proved necessary to maintain some order.
Finance Supplier Information Form
The finance team needed to update their Supplier Information form hoping to make it a lot more user-friendly with an interactive PDF  where the client could fill in the information and sign the documents online. For this project, I had to learn how to implement some InDesign interactive tools and made sure to organize it cleanly with a table for most of the design.
PavCo Values Installation
Every so often I am tasked with helping our corporate office with some design services. Wanting to give our values some presence in our day-to-day work life, I was tasked with designing some graphics for an installed display of our values and mocking them up. I worked with our Capital Planning and Projects teams to determine a location and worked with a local sign company to determine the best materials for the job. We almost made it to the finish line with printing and installation but decided to hold off in order to re-evaluate our values and overall PavCo brand.
